I'm a big fan of dark blue and gray Germany and dark red and gold Rome.īetter Civilization Icons - Gives some of the Civilizations a new icon. Tomatehk's Historical Religions - It's nice to have every civ's actual religion in here, as well as a bevy of other historical religions to chose from.īetter Civilization Colours - Gives the Civ four more relevant colors. Historicity++ - Amends some faulty info in the Civilopedia. Sukritact's Natural Wonders - I use the Grand Canyon, Blue Hole, Tonle Sap, and Mount Fuji. Sukritact Better Great Person Screen - Cleans up the great person screen a bit. Sukritact's Civ Selection Screen - It just makes the civilization selection screen a cleaner in my opinion. Nice for a quick glance to see who is allied with who and who hates who. Sukritact's Global Relationship Panel - It displays a "web" of the relationships between nations.

Makes free cities much more interesting, makes the map more dynamic, and gives you an actual reason to decline the request of a shitty AI-founded city to join your civ. Free cities have a small chance to become new city states if they aren't absorbed in to another civ quickly. It also adds two levels above Deity, if you hate yourself.įree City States. It reduces the usual high-difficulty issue of games either resulting in the AI stomping you in the ancient era or becoming a walk in the park once you catch up and overtake technologically. Smoother Difficulty 2 makes the bonuses the AI gets at the start of the game far smaller and compensates by making their yield bonuses scale up throughout the eras. Also improves the great person UI a little (such as telling you how many turns it is until each civ reaches the points required for that great person at their current rate, and also moving Prophets to the far right so that you don't have a weird gap in the middle of the menu for most of the game once they're all recruited) Real Great People just adds unique portraits for all the great people in the game, which is pretty cool. For example, a Catholic leader might pick a random Christian faith rather than just any random faith. It even has a lovely feature where if a leader's preferred religion is already taken it'll try to pick from a list of related ones first before going completely random. Historic Religions just adds an absolute tonne of religion icons and names, including having leaders pick the correct one historically. The first makes flooding way more severe for inland areas by having sea level rise propagate up rivers and other features the second hides information about which land will flood until you have the Conservation civic, so you can't plan your 2000BC settles to avoid 2000AD flooding and the third adds to the renewable energy options by allowing you to build power transfer infrastructure and make renewables an actual viable alternative to fossil fuels and nuclear power across your civ once you have the tech for it. Nere's Inland Flooding, Surprise Climate Change, and Renewable Energy Complexity as a combination. There's a version of it with extra unique units, but I prefer the generic-only one so that modded civs aren't left out. My favourite part is that it also significantly buffs anticav against cavalry. It feels like an incredibly natural part of the game to the point where it feels weird playing without it. Steel & Thunder fills out the unit trees nicely and balances the existing ones really effectively.
